Toby Cadman is a member of the Bar of England and Wales and an international criminal law specialist in the areas of war crimes, international terrorism, extradition and mutual legal assistance, judicial review, prison law and human rights law. Toby lectures extensively on international humanitarian law, criminal procedure and human rights law and has provided extensive advice and training to judges, prosecutors and defence lawyers throughout the Balkans and Southeast Asia.

Toby has appeared and been instructed in matters before the International Criminal Court, the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, the International Crimes Tribunal Bangladesh, the European Court of Human Rights, the Bosnian War Crimes Chamber and the UN Human Rights Committee.
As an extradition specialist he acts on behalf of requested persons, Governments and judicial authorities in extradition proceedings both at first instance hearings and extradition appeals in the High Court. He has acted for Albania, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Poland, Portugal, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Serbia and Sweden. Cases to date have included those involving war crimes, drug trafficking, human trafficking, murder, rape, violent crime and all types of dishonesty offences. Toby has also advised extensively on the obligations arising out of extradition requests and surrenders to International Criminal Tribunals.
Toby has a developing public international law practice that involves human rights work, prison law and judicial review. Currently Toby is instructed in a number of matters before the Administrative Court, European Court of Human Rights and the UN Human Rights Committee.
Toby also acts for a number of clients in pro-bono matters in foreign jurisdictions, in particular concerning British nationals convicted abroad.
